my space nk favourites

Space NK has long been a place I’ve shopped, be that for myself or for gifts for friends. There’s something about those little black bags that screams quality over any of its competitors. Since 1991, the company has provided over 100 of the most innovative and exciting brands to their customers with over 70 stores in the UK. Whether its a candle, a shampoo or a new skincare item, I love going in store and chatting to their very knowledgable staff about the latest and greatest things to arrive. They always seem to be one step ahead; they’ve been the first to get hold of countless brands I used to have to travel far and wide to find. Let me take you through my personal favourites I’ve bought from them…

favourite face masks

It was about fifteen years ago in a Space NK that I bought my first proper face mask (assuming he discount the 99p peel off ones at sleepovers). I still use it to this day; Ren’s Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. The lovely lady at the counter explained that this could be the thing to help my hormonal skin - and she was right.

Fast forward to now and my four favourite masks are all stocked at Space NK - the Ren and the below three:

  • Kate Somerville Mega C Mask - Packs a real punch, I was chatting to Penny in the St Albans store last week who agreed we can’t leave it on for the recommended 15 minutes just yet, you need to build it up. Packed full of goodness, this bright yellow mask brightens and tightens. It’s a strong one but great for regular skincare users who want to step up a level.

  • Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Mask - Another from KS but for good reason. If your skin is looking a little dull, this is the one for you. I bought one for a friend and her text message read “oh my god, that mask has taken half my face off in a good way” and I really agree.

  • Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask - I wanted to try this for ages and finally got my hands on it. A cult product, Space NK launched the brand into the UK. This mask just puts some life back into your skin. It’s made for post-flight but I use it whenever I’m feeling a little tired and it shows in my skin.

sensational sun care

I really wish I spent more wisely on sun care earlier, as I now pay the price with really damaged and pigmented skin. So, I am fussy with my sun tan lotion. I don’t like anything on my face that feels claggy or thick, or disrupts my make up. I went into Space NK in the Spring for some help and left with the below products. Having tried them all this year, I strongly vouch for each of them.

  • Kate Somerville UncompliKated SPF - Probably my favourite in this lot. It works as a make up setter and an SPF and you spray it on when you’ve done your make up. It works - holds make up in place, stops shine and keeps you protected.

  • Ultra Violette SPF Mist - An exclusive to Space NK, this mist spray has been recommended by anyone and everyone. You don’t need to rub it in, just spray on as a top up throughout the day. UV is a brilliant brand, I also use their SPF lip balms here.

  • Coola SPF 30 Spray - I like a tan so as much as I pile SPF50 on my face, I put 30 on my body most of the time. If you’re after an easy to apply, nice smelling body option look no further than cult-favourite brand Coola.

clever cleansers

Those of you who follow my Instagram will know that I’ve been changing up my cleansers recently, thanks to a sudden change in my skin (for two weeks of every month I go teenage-level spotty and it drove me insane). I was recommended these three to try and strongly recommend them all.

  • Fresh Soy Face Cleanser - A water based (cream feel) cleanser meant to sooth and balance skin that’s having a hard time. Ingredients like soy, rosewater and cucumber all do their thing. My skin looked better really quickly.

  • Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser - A total cult favourite and for good reason. It cleans the skin without stripping it, which is often the problem when you get a break out as you end up taking the good bits as well as the bad bits off and create a whole mess for yourself.

  • Byoma Melting Balm Cleanser - Balms are my favourite cleanser, they just feel so luxurious. This brand launched through Space NK, their point of difference being that they are incredibly reasonably priced considering the quality of their products (this cleanser is £15).

All in all, if you ever need quality advice or guidance you can lean on Space NK. Their website is actually one I bother to read articles on, as they’re super comprehensive and modest. If you’ve never shopped with them before they have a discount code for 15% off, FIRST15 and do bother to sign up to their NDULGE scheme because you very quickly amass discounts off your favourite things.
