With the colder, darker months approaching my skin descends into its annual chaos. In summer I can wing it - vitamin D in the air and SPF gets me through. But as soon as autumn approaches its a stark reminds that (without help) my skin turns as grey as the weather. As a double whammy; this is my busiest time of year for work so the eye bags appear too. So, I started to look at other things I could do to help myself through the gloom - enter Current Body.

Current Body is the first of its kind; a company focused on technology for the beauty world. I’ve been testing a few different things from their offering and have had an absolute blast doing so! Be it cleansing tools, hair removal or facial toning devices - Current Body is the home of everything you need to add to make self care a little bit brighter.

Speaking of bright, the bits that got me most excited were the LED devices. You know I’m a fan, I’ve used these red rays before (both at home and during professional treatments) and have always seen benefits. So I was curious, would Current Body’s do anything different?

The simple answer is so far so good! I’ve been testing their LED Eye Perfector for a few weeks now, and think it might be the most effective LED machine I’ve tried. The device packs a punch with 4 kinds of LED lights targeting dark circles, puffiness, 11 lines and crows feet around the eye in daily 3 minutes sessions (6 days out of 7 is recommended).

Its clinically proven to penetrate deep into the skin, enhancing collagen production. You can use it alongside your usual beauty routine; cleanse, tone, moisturise and then pop it on. If you really want to enhance results, Current Body offer their Green Tea Eye Cream which they recommend you use alongside it.

As I said, I’ve been using it for a few weeks and have already seen a difference. I’ll share more as I go on my Instagram here, but I firmly recommend a purchase based on just the last few weeks.

Green tea is a really important ingredient for skin care and recovery, and I really believe on the best results coming from the inside, out. So, alongside the eye cream, Current Body do a Green Tea Supplement. The ingredient is packed full anti-inflammatory goodness, helping your skin to resist the signs of ageing and inflammation.

With 120 in a tub and recommended 1 a day dose, one tub will get you through the whole winter and if you’re anything like me you’ll notice your skin is brighter, less grey and getter equipped to deal with breakouts after a couple of weeks’ use. Separately to skincare, green tea is also known for its calming, soothing impact - all in all, it’s a hug in a jar.

Next up; skin sculpting. Ever the sceptic, I’ve never really tried these kind of things. But when I talked to friends about this partnership they all said “ooh you need to get their skin sculptor!” - so I did. They used them for a mix of reasons; skin puffiness, chiselling their jawlines, reducing tension from grinding their teeth, and general wellbeing.

I have to say, I can see why. I’ve added it in every morning when I do my morning routine. I apply my serum and then spend a couple of minutes rolling in vertical motions across my face, around my jaw and down my neck.

I’ve seen two main changes: it’s reduced puffiness in my cheeks and it’s really, really helped with tension I get from grinding my teeth when I’m stressed. I’d really recommend it, and it’s a great price so could make a brilliant gift for a friend of family member you think could benefit from it.

Last but by no means least, and a little step away from skincare devices but extremely handy all the same. It’s a make up mirror, and a good one. I’d been hunting for one for ages and am so glad I waited for this.

With 3 different light settings (bright light, one that is like indoor lighting and one thats like outdoor lighting) and an additional magnifying mirror on the back it’s possibly the most useful thing in my make-up-based-arsenal.

So there we are, my early thoughts on Current Body. I’m so happy to have found them, they are stalwarts in my daily routine. I’ll report future results via my Instagram here, but if you need a little confidence boost, or know someone who does I cannot recommend them more!
